The new MLA for Antigonish says it's time to get down to business.

Moe Smith was officially sworn in during a ceremony at Province House Monday.

Smith tells The Hawk one of his first tasks will be to catch up on the concerns of constituents.

"I just have to sit down and kind of open a file on each person and what their issue is, and try to get up to speed on those issues and be able to give them reasonable responses."

Smith says he sat in the house for the first time Monday.

He says he doesn't expect to start committee work until the next session of the house, sometime in the New Year.
