Three athletes and one builder have been chosen as the first people to be enshrined on the Port Hawkesbury Sports Wall of Fame.
The athletes are; Allison Hope who was an All-American Tennis player for the University of Denver, NHL defenceman Aaron Johnson who plays for the Calgary Flames and Peter MacKenzie who was an All-Canadian hockey player at Saint F-X and went on to be drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers.
The late Tiger MacKie will go on the wall in the builder category.
He was the first coach of the Strait Pirates and was instrumental in the building of the first Port Hawkesbury arena.
An induction ceremony will be held November 29th at the site of the Sports Wall of fame in the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. |
