The principal of the NSCC Strait Area Campus says a couple of projects are moving along.
The school is building a new marine simulator and a new fire field.
Principal Tom Gunn says the simulator has actually been finished and operational for 4 or 5 weeks now, but it's still being tweaked so it won't be officially unveiled until the spring.
Gunn says the fire field is under construction and there are two buildings; a classroom and storage-type building that is progressing and a burn building.
Gunn says they're still working on site preparation for the burn building and they hope to get the slab poured in the next few weeks.
He says the fire field will likely be finished by the end of March in time for an April unveiling that would coincide with the unveiling of the marine simulator.
