The funeral of Marilyn MacKay took place Saturday in Louisdale.
MacKay passed away in a Toronto Hospital last Tuesday from complications of a double-lung transplant.
The Louisdale woman is well known for her fight to get the provincial government to assist patients waiting for treatment outside of Nova Scotia.
She spent 2 years in Ontario waiting to get her lung transplant.
The Government now covers living expenses after three months for patients forced to seek medical treatment out of province.
Richmond MLA Michel Samson says there are many Nova Scotia families that will benefit from the strength of Marilyn and her husband Ken. |
