The mayor of Canso says a company is ready to break ground at one of the former Seafreeze properties in the town.
Frank Fraser says the company is trying to clear up paperwork before it starts building a processing plant.
Fraser tells The Hawk construction is right around the corner.
"Louisbourg Seafoods have indicated they're prepared to go any day now. They have been doing some survey work down there. The land has been migrated from Seafreeze."
Fraser says the company wants to be ready for the spring fishing season.
He says anywhere from 50 to 100 people could be employed at the plant. |
