A 25-hour ER closure will be in place at a hospital in the Quad Counties.
Officials at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston say their emergency department will be closed from 7 a.m. Christmas Day (Monday) until 8 a.m. Boxing Day (Tuesday).
They say the unavailability of physicians to cover the shift is the reason for the unexpected temporary closure; there have been ER closures at the hospital every week for the past few months.
You’re asked to go to another ER or call 911 with a medical emergency; you can call 811 for any non-urgent issues.
