The Pirates (9-14-3), losers of back-to-back games and four of their last five, are fourth in the five-team Sid Rowe Division with 21 points, seven points behind Antigonish for third, and 18 points ahead of last-place Cumberland Co.
The Miners (20-3-2) lead the division with 42 points, and are tied with Cole Harbour for top spot in the league.
Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they need to focus on the defensive side of the game to be successful.
“It starts with taking care of our own end and playing some good defence- that will translate into giving ourselves some offensive opportunities,” he says. “The biggest focus for us will be working on taking care of our own end first.”
It’s the sixth and final regular season game between the teams- the Miners have won the first five.
