The Strait Pirates will try to avoid a 3-0 series deficit when they host the Miners in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League playoffs.
The Miners won the first two games in the best-of-seven, Sid Rowe Division semi-final Feb. 16-17.
Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they need to simplify things in game three.
“We’ve got to get pucks to the net, we’ve got to get bodies to the net and score goals the ugly way, and then we’ve got to defend and be hard in our end,” he says. “I think there’s battles in games that guys have to win one-on-one, whether it’s in front of the net or along the boards- if you do that, more often than not you’ll win hockey games.”
Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
A Miners’ win means the Pirates will be facing elimination when the series returns to Membertou for game four Saturday night.
