The Antigonish Bulldogs will try to stave off elimination when they meet the Miners in Membertou in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League playoffs.
The Miners won the first two games in the best-of-seven, Sid Rowe Division final, the Bulldogs won game three at home Friday night, then the Miners put Antigonish on the brink of elimination with a win in Membertou the next night.
Dave Synishin, Antigonish’s head coach, tells The Hawk they’ll need a better performance in game five if they want to extend the series.
“We’ve struggled in that rink, I’m not quite sure why, I thought the Miners were a little bit ripe for the picking early on in that game (four), but we just didn’t take advantage of it- back-to-back games, I think, was a little difficult for us,” he says. “We just kind of have to have that same mentality that we do at home, and if we do, I think it’ll be a good game.”
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
A Miners’ win sends them to the league final against East Hants; a Bulldogs’ win sends the series back to Antigonish for game six Friday.
