The mayor of Antigonish says the second Engage Antigonish session went very well.
Laurie Boucher says roughly 70 people took part in the session last week.
She says they expected participation to drop a bit from the first session in January, but they had new people show up as well.
After Monday night’s regular town council meeting, Boucher said town officials are pleased with the results.
“There was very good dialogue (that) came out of it,” she said. “The people that were there seemed very, very engaged, very interested and very passionate about the topic that they participated in.”
Boucher said they’re excited to learn what comes back.
She said they’ll use the data compiled from the two sessions to shape their upcoming budget and set their strategic plan.
