A StFX men’s hockey athlete has signed an amateur contract.
Jagger Dirk, 25, has inked a one-year deal with the Utica Comets, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.
Dirk signed an amateur tryout deal with the Binghamton Devils, of the AHL, in late March; he had an assist in seven games.
The defenceman is a two-time AUS all-star and a 2018 U Sports First-Team All-Canadian.
He spent four seasons with the X-Men; he won back-to-back conference titles and silver medals at the University Cup in 2016 and this past season.
Dirk recently received a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration from StFX officials.
