Provincial officials have honoured 86 Emergency Health Services employees, including five from the Quad Counties, with long service awards.
Randy Delorey, Health Minister and Antigonish MLA, was on hand as EHS staff members who have between 20 and 45 years of experience were honoured in Halifax Tuesday.
Rhonda Helpard, of Mulgrave; Natasha Ryan, of Troy; and Sean Smeaton, of Antigonish, all received awards for 20 years in the industry, while James Gillis, of Inverness, earned an award for serving 25 years; Alexander Joseph MacDonald, of Inverness, was the lone recipient of the award representing 45 years on the job.
