Three games highlight the local sports schedule.
The Port Hawkesbury Bucs host the Little Anse Hawks in the Richmond Amateur Baseball Association.
The Hawks (5-5) are third in the six-team league, two games behind Isle Madame and Inverness, who are tied for top spot, and a half-game ahead of the Bucs (3-4), who are fourth, a game ahead of fifth-place St. Peter’s.
The teams have met once so far- Little Anse won 6-3 in Port Hawkesbury July 4.
First pitch at the Dan Willie MacDonald Memorial Ballfield is 6:15 p.m.
The Heatherton Warriors host the St. Andrews Flyers in the AGR.
The Warriors (4-3) are second in the five-team league, a game behind Pomquet for top spot, and a half-game ahead of third-place Guysborough; the winless Flyers (0-2) are tied with St. Joseph’s for fourth, a game back of Guysborough for third.
The teams have met once so far- Heatherton won 9-3 in St. Andrews in June.
First pitch is 6:30 p.m.
The Antigonish Celtics visit United DFC in the Nova Scotia Soccer League‘s U15A boys division.
The undefeated Celtics (1-0-1) are tied with Central for sixth in the nine-team division with four points, two points behind Halifax City for fifth, and four points ahead of East Hants and Halifax Dunbrack, the two teams tied for eighth; undefeated United DFC (5-0-1) is second with 16 points.
It’s the first league game of the season between the teams.
