A work stoppage has been averted at three local branches of East Coast Credit Union.
44 full and part-time credit union workers in Antigonish, St. Andrews and New Glasgow voted 98 per cent in favour of strike action to fight proposed pension plan changes in July.
Those three branches used to be Bergengren Credit Unions before a merger that became official in Jan. 2016.
Reps for both sides returned to the bargaining table for another round of conciliation in Antigonish Wednesday.
Unifor reps say they reached a tentative agreement during those talks, but no details will be released until their members vote on the deal.
They say members of the union’s bargaining team are recommending acceptance.
