Several of our local athletes earned medals on the third day of competition at the 2018 Special Olympics Summer Games.
Antigonish athletes dominated the Long Jump where Roslyn Samson won gold…RJ Pitts captured silver and Lisa Leasushner rounded out the podium with a bronze.
In the Pool Antigonish’s Elizabeth Abler captured gold in the 25 metre freestyle and Jessica Gillis of Heatherton won bronze..
Meanwhile on Saturday the Nova Scotia Basketball team will play for bronze against Ontario Amprior at 9am while the Nova Scotia Softball squad meet BC in the Gold Medal at 11:30.
