RCMP say a seven month investigation has led to two women being charged with drug trafficking in Port Hawkesbury and Antigonish.
On Tuesday members of the Inverness-Richmond County Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) made the arrests as a result of an opioid trafficking investigation in the Port Hawkesbury area.
Darlene Lorraine Bowen, 54 of Embree Island has been charged with Trafficking Oxycodone.
Carol Bouchie, 47 of Aulds Cove has been charged with two counts of Trafficking Oxycodone and two counts of Trafficking Hydromorphone.
The investigation began in February.
Bouchie was released and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on September 18th.
Bowen was remanded and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on Thursday.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
