An Inverness County youth had a strong showing at the 2018 TransCan Grand National Championship in Walton, Ontario.
Nine-year-old Hunter MacDonald of Port Hood advanced to the national event after winning his third consecutive Motorsport Racing Canada Atlantic region championship in the 50cc division in July at Meadow Motocross Park in Halifax.
He completed the national competition on Friday finishing the week with a 9th overall in 50cc 7-8, and 11th overall in the 50cc open.
MacDonald competed with entries from all over the world including the USA and South Africa.
