Three local players have cracked the same roster in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Antigonish’s Jake Stewart and Sean Stewart survived final cuts at the Moncton Wildcats training camp.
Jake split the 2017-18 season between the Pictou Co. Crushers in the Maritime Hockey League, where he played 39 games, and the Wildcats, appearing in 18 games following a late-season call-up.
Sean played the majority of the 2017-18 season with the Cape Breton West Islanders in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League, but had four games with the Crushers and two with the Wildcats at the end of the season.
The cousins join Pleasant Valley’s Jacob Hudson in Moncton; he spent all of the 2017-18 season with the Wildcats, his rookie campaign in the QMJHL.
