A number of artists and industry members with local connections have been nominated for 2018 Music Nova Scotia Awards.
The Stanfields are up for 3 awards, band member Jon Landry of Guysborough is also up for Producer of the Year.
Cheticamp’s Maxim Cormier earned 3 nominations.
Mary Beth Carty of Antigonish, Port Hawkesbury’s Dara Smith-MacDonald, The Town Heroes from Inverness County, Antigonish’s Thomason and Heather Rankin of Mabou have also been nominated in various categories.
The Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre received a nomination for Venue of the Year, The town of Port Hawkesbury and Strathspey Performing Arts Centre are nominated for Community Presenter of the Year.
Tracey MacNeil of Mabou and Nustar Energy are other local industry award nominees.
The Hawk has been nominated in the radio station of the year category, East Coast Rising and East Coast Countdown are up for Radio Program of the Year.
The winners will be announced in Truro in November.
