A local hockey player will wear the “C” with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
Declan Smith has been named captain of the Screaming Eagles for the 2018-19 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.
The 20-year-old centre from St. Andrews, who is heading into his fourth full season with Cape Breton, is the team’s longest serving player.
He’s the second player from the Quad Counties to captain Cape Breton in recent years- Creignish’s Nick MacNeil wore the “C” for home games in the 2009-10 QMJHL season.
