A local member of the country’s blind hockey team will take part in a historic event.
Alex Angus MacEachen, 18, of Mabou will play for Team Canada in the first-ever international competition in the history of the parasport of blind hockey.
The 2018 USA Blind Hockey Summit opens in Pittsburgh Friday, and runs until Sunday.
The competition takes place at the practice rink of the Pittsburgh Penguins; the format is Canada against the U.S. in a best-of-three series.
