The StFX men’s hockey team hosts the Acadia Axemen in AUS action.
The X-Men (6-2-2), who have won five straight and six of their last seven, are third in the seven-team conference with 14 points, a point behind Saint Mary’s for second, and two points ahead of fourth-place Moncton; they’re ranked ninth in the country.
Acadia (3-6-0) is sixth with six points.
Brad Peddle, StFX’s head coach, tells The Hawk they need to put pressure on the Axemen’s blueline.
“With some of the guys they have up front, they’re very dangerous hockey players, so we’ve got to make sure we’re taking away their time and space,” he says. “With that team, I think the key for us is to make them play in their own end as much as we possibly can, and really play more of a puck-possession game, and create our chances from there.”
The teams have met once so far- StFX won 5-2 in Antigonish in October.
Puck drop at the Keating Centre in Antigonish is 7 p.m.
