The warden of Inverness Co. says she understands the frustration of customers on the Judique Water System.
A boil water order in the community is into its third week; there was another lengthy boil order for Judique water customers that started in January and wasn’t lifted until March.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, Inverness Co.’s warden, tells The Hawk they’ve heard from residents in the area, and they understand it’s taking too long.
“They have every right to be displeased with what’s going on,” she says. “I want everybody to know that the municipality is doing their best to correct this issue- it’s going to have to be for long-term this time.”
MacQuarrie says heavy rain has led to the problems, but they hope to have them resolved soon.
She says this order is unrelated to the one from earlier in the year.
