The mayor of Mulgrave says the town’s new water treatment plant is up and running.
Ralph Hadley says there’s been good water pressure and volume for three weeks, but the old plant will remain online for another month in case someone goes wrong.
The estimated cost of the project is between $3.5 million and $4 million; there have been numerous delays since construction started in 2011.
After December’s regular town council meeting Monday night, Hadley told The Hawk it’s been a long wait.
“It’s been too long,” he said. “It’s been an embarrassing project- a very embarrassing project- for the town council and the taxpayers.”
Hadley said town officials have a lawyer to help them consider legal action against the plant’s contractor and previous engineer.
