The Strait Pirates play their final home game before the Christmas break in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
They host the Eskasoni Eagles.
The Pirates (16-1-1), winners of 11 straight and 12 of their last 13, lead the Sid Rowe Division- and the entire league- with 33 points, four points up on East Hants for top spot overall, and 11 points ahead of Pictou Co. for first in the division.
The Eagles (4-11-1) are fifth in the division with nine points.
Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they want to keep their momentum heading into Christmas.
“We’ve been on a good roll lately, but we’ve got two tough games to finish here before the break,” he says. “We want to make sure we play the right way, continue to play the way we have been playing, and make sure we take care of business in the last two before the break.”
It’s the second game between the teams- the Pirates shutout the Eagles 6-0 in Port Hawkesbury in November.
Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates visit Liverpool in their final game before Christmas Saturday night.
