Nova Scotia is making the largest investment in infrastructure in eight years.
Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal minister Lloyd Hines says they will invest 300-million dollars in roads and bridges in 2019 and 2020.
A big portion of the work will be the construction of the twinned highway between Antigonish and Sutherlands River.
The MLA for Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie also says it will be one of the biggest in the province’s history.
The plan includes upgrades to the Cabot Trail and Cape Smokey as well as highway twinning and general maintenance.
Some of the work includes improvements to exit 44 on the 104 highway in Richmond county, upgrades to the intersection of trunks 4 and 7 in Antigonish, an overhaul of trunk 16 in Guysborough, and work on the Cranton bridge in Invernesss county.
There will also be major bridge replacements including Salt Springs Brook Bridge onAntigonishh trunk 7, the Canal Bridge onWhiteheadd road Guysborough, and Inverness’ Nelson Bridge.
The plan is subject to approval in the 2019-20 budget.

Eastside Harbour Road: from 2 km south of Trunk 16 to Parker Hart Road, Guysborough
New Harbour-Lundy Road: from New Harbour West Road northerly to 0.85 km north of
Ed Sangster Road, Guysborough
Island Light Road: from Cheticamp Island Road to end of listing, Inverness
Mabou Mines Road: from Mabou Harbour Road northerly, Inverness
Meat Cove Road: from Victoria County Line westerly to end of maintained section, Inverness
Corbett’s Cove Road: from Trunk 4 (west end) easterly, Richmond
