There are a pair of hockey games on the local sports schedule.
The Inverness-Baddeck Academy Rebels host the Richmond Academy Hurricanes in the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League.
The Hurricanes (5-1-1) lead the five-team league with 16 points, four points up on second-place SAERC; the Rebels (3-2-0) are fourth with nine points, two points behind Dalbrae for third, and six points ahead of last-place Eskasoni.
It’s the first game of the season between the teams.
Puck drop at the Victoria Highland Civic Centre in Baddeck is 7:30 p.m.
The Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals travel to Trenton to take on the North Nova Gryphons in the Northern Nova Scotia High School Hockey League.
They’re at opposite end of the standings in the five-team league- the Royals (1-3-1) are last with three points, a point-and-a-half back of Northumberland for fourth, while the Gryphons (8-1-0) have won eight of their first nine regular season games to sit in top spot with 16 points.
The teams have met once so far- North Nova won 4-1 in Antigonish in November.
