RCMP were called to a Quad County school to deal with a knife incident.
In a memo to parents, Glen Austen, the Principal at St Andrew Junior School in Antigonish confirmed a student brought a kitchen knife to school Monday.
He says the student was exhibiting behaviour that put the student at risk and also threatened to harm others in the classroom.
Austen added that no one was hurt and the student was removed from the school and is receiving support.
They say the administration is dealing with the incident as a disciplinary issue in accordance with the Provincial School Code of Conduct Policy.
The school is offering students’ support through the Guidance Counsellor and administration.
