The warden of Inverness Co. says things have gone well since her fellow councillors tried to remove her from the position.
Councillors voted to unseat Betty Ann MacQuarrie at December’s regular municipal council meeting; she returned to the chair following a vote for a new warden.
The first council meeting since those votes took place Jan. 3.
MacQuarrie tells The Hawk it went fine.
“First meeting in the new year everything went very well- everybody had their chance to speak and motions were passed,” she says. “Everything went very smoothly, there were no snags whatsoever- I think we’re moving forward.”
MacQuarrie says one of the concerns previously raised was leadership.
She says she’s trying to respond.
“I did take leadership training- I also have the experience in the past from chairing many different boards, whether it be a community health board or local community boards,” she says. “I do have the experience.”
MacQuarrie says vision was also raised as an issue, and they’re focused on moving forward as a municipality.
