The MLA for Inverness says residents are pushing for improvements to a road in Margaree Valley.
Allan MacMaster says he tabled a petition, which included 90 signatures, regarding Egypt Rd. Sept. 27.
He says he provided Llloyd Hines, the province’s transportation minister and the MLA for Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie with a copy of the petition in the spring.
MacMaster tells The Hawk it’s been a long time since the road was paved.
“People who are travelling on it, they’re experiencing what that’s like- it’s very rough road at this point,” he says. “There had been a blocked culvert that was causing some fairly significant flooding on the surface of the road.”
MacMaster says work to address the flooding has been done.
He says some patching is planned, which should help address some of the concerns, but it’s a stop-gap measure.
