Nova Scotia is out with its first monthly report on COVID-19.
It reveals the province lost 15 people to the virus in June.
However, the province warns the number could be adjusted as deaths can sometimes lag in reporting.
Most of the people who passed away were over the age of 70.
There were also 144 new hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and the labs identified more than 7,500 positive cases.
The report states age and lack of vaccination continue to be related to severe outcomes.
“Unvaccinated Nova Scotians were hospitalized at nearly four times the rate and died more than three times the
rate as those with three or more doses.”
The number of positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths dropped in June compared to the previous month.
Nova Scotia previously released the data weekly but changed course when the remaining restrictions were lifted earlier this month.
