The final report into a triple murder-suicide nearly seven years ago in Guysborough County will be made public next week.
Lionel Desmond shot his wife, daughter and mother in Upper Big Tracadie and then turned the gun on himself in 2017.
Desmond was suffering from severe PTSD and depression after two tours in Afghanistan and fell through the cracks of the health care system while he was looking for help.
The inquiry examined whether Desmond had access to the proper mental health care he needed and his ability to buy a gun.
The hearings went through several lengthy delays including COVID-19, venue changes and in judges overseeing the proceedings.
The final report and recommendations will be released on January 31 in Port Hawkesbury.
