Although it may not feel like it, cruise ship season is just around the corner.
It starts in April and ends in November.
For those enthusiastic about cruising, excitement may be brewing on Take a Cruise Day, February 3.
That’s according to the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association (ACCA) who is celebrating decades of supporting growth in cruise tourism.
“For 30 years, the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association has helped guide the region’s cruise industry by working together with member ports in a shared commitment to present the region as a welcoming, world-class destination,” says Sarah Rumley ACCA Executive Director.
Visits across more than 20 ports in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick is planned for 2026 with seven ships making their debut:
- Explora Journeys’ Explora III
- Oceana Cruises’ Vista
- PONANTS L’Austral
- Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of the Seas
- Seabourn Cruise Line’s Seabourn Ovation
- Viking Cruises’ Viking Vela
- Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady
In Halifax, the season begins April 7 with Viking Polaris and ends November 5 with Seabourn Ovation.
New this year, Norweigan Cruise Line will have spring and summer itineraries in Bermuda and Halifax.
A 2023 study by Tourism Economics for Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reported $402 million of economic output and 2,100 local jobs were supported by cruise activity.
