An actor with Festival Antigonish has received a Merritt Award from Theatre Nova Scotia representatives.
Hugh Thompson won the 2018 Merritt Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for his role in “Kingfisher Days” at Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre.
Festival Antigonish received three other nominations, two for “Kingfisher Days”- it was up for Best Production and Francine Deschepper was nominated for Best Female Actor.
Christian Murray was also nominated in the Best Male Actor category for his work in “The Hound of the Baskervilles.”
Antigonish native Mary-Colin Chisholm received the Theatre Nova Scotia Legacy Award at Monday night’s ceremony in Halifax.
