Guysborough’s warden says the Chedabucto Lifestyle Complex remains on schedule for a March or April opening.
Construction on the $8, 900, 000 recreation facility got underway in May.
An outdoor rink, a figure-eight skating loop, an artificial turf field and four-lane running track and a new community recreation centre will be part of the complex.
After Wednesday’s monthly municipal council meeting, Vernon Pitts, warden, said recent mild weather has helped keep construction going.
“Who’s to say it could end up being an open winter and it’ll be done ahead of schedule.”
Pitts said coating the running track around the soccer field is one aspect that has been delayed.
He said that might not get done until the spring.
