Municipal officials in Inverness Co. say they’re moving forward with their accessibility committee.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, Warden, says the committee membership is finalized- two councillors and three community members are sitting on it.
She says she will also be touching base with the committee on a regular basis.
MacQuarrie tells The Hawk having Laurie Cranton, councillor, sit on the provincial accessibility committee will be a benefit for the county.
“The advantage- I think that it will just reinforce the issue,” she says. “I think there will be better communication as to when opportunities such as grants and things like that will be available.”
MacQuarrie says the councillors will report back to council.
She says she doesn’t have a date for the first official meeting of the committee, but it’s probably coming soon.
