Barb Reddick filed a lawsuit against her nephew in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Port Hawkesbury in July looking to retrieve the half of the winnings.
In court on Friday it was revealed that Reddick sent funds to her nephew Tyrone MacInnis to play the lottery…a ticket with both their names won the $1.2 million jackpot on July 11.
The jackpot check was split 50 – 50.
Reddick’s lawyer filed a motion for preservation order to prevent the prize money awarded to MacInnis from being spent or transferred.
The judge who is hearing the matter reserved his decision until August 27th.
In the meantime the judge ordered that the funds in the MacInnis bank account remain frozen.
Reddick has said she only put his name on the ticket for good luck, and she wants all of the jackpot.
