A man from Port Hawkesbury charged in connection with a drug bust has had his case adjourned.
Joel Francis Hugh MacDonnell, 35, faces two drug charges and a pair of breaches after officers pulled over a driver for a cell phone infraction in Jan. 2017.
Police say they ended up finding oxycodone pills during the stop.
MacDonnell, who pleaded not guilty to his charges in March 2017, was scheduled for a status update in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Thursday; his case was adjourned until Sept. 6.
He’s scheduled to stand trial Oct. 15.
MacDonnell was sentenced to 18 months house arrest for theft, two possession of stolen property counts, and a firearms offence following an Inverness Co. firearms theft in March 2017.
Police say someone broke into a Creignish-area home and stole seven different guns, a crossbow, several types of ammunition and a generator in Aug. 2016.
