The Strait Pirates host the Brookfield Elks in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The Pirates (6-1-1), winners of two of their last three, lead the Sid Rowe Division with 13 points, three points up on second-place Antigonish.
Winless Brookfield (0-8-1) is last in the Fred Fox Division- and the entire league- with a single point.
Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk that doesn’t mean they can take the Elks lightly.
“I think they’re a lot better than their record indicates- I think they’ve got a lot of young players just establishing themselves in the league,” he says. “They’re going to play hard, and they’re going to make it a tough game on us- we’ve got to make sure we’re ready and playing the right way.”
It’s the second and final regular season game between the teams- the Pirates beat the Elks 9-4 in Brookfield Oct. 2.
Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
