A couple of AUS champions are the latest StFX athletes of the week.
Angus Rawling, a runner with the X-Men cross country team, earned male honours after he won the individual gold medal at the AUS championship in Halifax Saturday.
Rawling, who was named a conference all-star and the AUS cross country male athlete of the year, finished the 10km course in 31:33 for his second straight individual conference title; the X-Men won the AUS team title.
Meghan Buchanan, a centre with the X-Women rugby team, won the female award; she was named player of the game in StFX’s 38-7 win against Acadia in the AUS title game in Antigonish Friday night.
X-Men quarterback Bailey Wasdal, linebacker Gordon Whyte and defensive back Jeremy Pike are the StFX football players of the week following a 38-15 win against Mount Allison in their regular season finale in Antigonish Saturday.
