Municipal councillors in Inverness Co. have approved a number of new policies.
They served notice they were considering changes to some policies in July.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, the warden of Inverness Co., says councillors approved the municipality’s new Active Transportation Plan at November’s regular municipal council meeting Thursday.
MacQuarrie tells The Hawk the plan will be very helpful moving forward.
“You might want to develop sidewalks or you might want have a bike lane,” she says. “You might want to have some connections in your community that encourages activity, and people moving, walking, biking rather than jumping in the car and going short distances all the time.”
Councillors also approved their revised Workplace Violence Prevention Plan and Occupational Health and Safety Program at Thursday’s meeting.
