<CANCELLED>The StFX X-Men play their second AUS road game in as many nights.
The X-Men, coming off a loss against UNB in Fredericton Friday night, are in Charlottetown to take on the fifth-place UPEI Panthers.
StFX is ranked sixth in the country.
It’s the first game of the season between the teams.
Game time is 7 p.m.
The Antigonish Bulldogs are on the road in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
They visit the Liverpool Privateers.
The Bulldogs (7-5-0), with two losses in their last three games, are tied with Pictou Co. for second in the Sid Rowe Division with 14 points, a point ahead of the fourth-place Miners; the Privateers (5-4-1) are fourth in the Fred Fox Division with 11 points.
It’s the first game of the season between the teams.
Game time is 7 p.m.
The Cape Breton West Islanders have a pair of home games against a team they’re chasing in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League standings.
They host the Valley Wildcats.
The Islanders (8-5-1), who have lost two of their last three, are third in the eight-team league with 17 points, three points behind the Wildcats (10-7-0) for second, and a point ahead of fourth-place Halifax.
Cape Breton West has won two of the first three games in the season series.
Puck drop at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood is 6 p.m.
The teams face off again in Port Hood Sunday afternoon.
The two local teams in the Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League are on home ice for two weekend games each.
The Cape Breton Panthers host the Northern Lightning in Membertou at 5 p.m.
The Panthers (4-3-1) are tied with the Lightning (3-4-3) for third in the seven-team league with nine points, seven points behind Halifax for second, and four points ahead of the fifth-place Fundy Nationals.
It’s the first regular season game between the teams.
The Northern Selects host the Fundy Nationals at the Pictou Co. Wellness Centre at 7:30 p.m.
The Selects (9-0-2), who are undefeated, lead the league with 20 points, four points up on second-place Halifax; the Nationals (2-5-1) are fifth with five points.
The teams have met twice so far- the Selects won both games by identical scores of 14-1 in October.
The same four teams square off again Sunday.
The Novas are home for the weekend in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League.
They host the East Hants Rangers.
The Novas (4-8-0), who have lost six of their last seven, are 10th in the 12-team league with eight points, two points behind Kings for ninth, and a point ahead of 11th-place Bedford; the Rangers (6-5-1) are tied for sixth with 13 points.
The teams have played once so far- East Hants won 6-2 in Lantz in October.
Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 5 p.m.
The Novas play Kings in Port Hawkesbury Sunday afternoon.
There are a pair of games in the Antigonish Rural League.
The Heatherton Warriors take on the County Outlaws at 7 p.m.; the St. Croix Angels play the Pleasantdale Panthers at 8:45 p.m.
Both games are at the Antigonish Arena.
The Halifax Mooseheads play their second home game in as many nights in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Mooseheads, coming off a win against Cape Breton in the Battle of Nova Scotia in Halifax Friday night, host Pomquet’s Logan Chisholm and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Halifax, ranked seventh in the country, has won the first two games in the nine-game season series, including an 8-2 win in Bathurst Wednesday night.
Puck drop at Scotiabank Centre is 7 p.m.
The StFX basketball teams are on the road for AUS action.
They visit the Cape Breton Capers in Sydney.
The X-Men (1-1) split their first two games of the season against UNB Nov. 2-3; the Capers’ men’s team (0-2) lost their first two against Dalhousie.
The X-Women (0-2) lost both their games to UNB; the Capers’ women’s team (2-0) won their first two against Dalhousie.
The women get underway at 6 p.m.; the men tip off at 8 p.m.
Members of the StFX cross country team are competing in nationals.
The X-Men and X-Women are taking part in the 2018 U Sports Championship at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.
The women’s race starts at 2 p.m.; the men get underway at 3 p.m.
