A woman is safe after she developed a medical issue while kayaking near Aulds Cove.
Antigonish District RCMP say they received a report of a woman in medical distress shortly after 5pm on Friday.
They say she was able to land on an island located off Havre Boucher.
RCMP officers and members of the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department with the assistance of a volunteer with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary were deployed to the Island.
RCMP officers and firefighters provided emergency medical care on site.
She was then transported back to shore, where EHS provided further medical treatment and transported her to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.
There is no word on her condition.
