With Disney Plus coming to Canada on November 12th this is the absolute ideal time to compare Netflix and Disney Plus!
I’ll be judging each streaming service by 3 categories Price, Content, and Availability
Disney Plus vs Netflix: Price!

To start, Disney Plus will definitely beat Netflix on price.
Canadian are expected to pay $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year to access Disney shows and movies from Disney brands such as Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
For Netflix Canadians pay 9.99 a month but that is on the cheap end and that will only allow you to watch Netflix on 1 screen at a time and will not allow you to watch in HD.
All in all I think Disney plus takes the price round due to the fact you are paying less then Netflix and you’ll get the same perks as Netflix’s highest tier!
Disney Plus vs Netflix: Content!

Lets talk about content. As I mentioned before you will pay less for Disney Plus but that means there’s gonna be a cut in content compared to Netflix.
A quote from Disney’s CEO Robert Iger stated that “our plan on the Disney side is to price this substantially below where Netflix is. This is in part reflective of the fact that it will have substantially less volume.”
Now you can take that as you will but Disney Plus will still feature around 6,000 titles.
But we should be able to still get every Disney film ever made on the service, possibly from day one: this includes the classics such as Snow White and Aladdin movies. The Star Wars films and entirety of Pixar will be included.
It’s also expected that new Disney films will then be added within the year after a theatrical release.
Moving on to Netflix Though it’s hard for Disney to compete right out of the gate with titles such as Friends, Stranger Things and GLOW just to name a few!
All in all it’s just hard for Disney Plus to compete against Netflix and 13,000+ compared to Disney Plus 6000+ titles.
This means Netflix takes this round!
Disney Plus vs Netflix: Availability!

Looking at availability I have to specify I mean what devices you can stream each service off of and it looks like each service is in a deadlock tie.
Both Netflix and Disney Plus will be available on iOS devices and Apple TV, Android phones and TVs, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices, Roku sticks, TVs PS4 and Xbox One.
For availability it’ll have to end in a tie!
Conclusion:
In conclusion after reading through all the details it’ll have to come down to what kind of person are you?
Are you a more of a Disney/Star Wars type of person or would you Rather watch Friends or Stranger things!
I know for a fact I will be trying Disney plus to see what it’s all about on November 12th
