
Officials with the provincial government have announced support for community food literacy.
They’re investing more than $134,000 through their Community Food Literacy and Access Fund.
There are several local recipients among the 39 programs; officials with the Town of Port Hawkesbury officials are getting $3,550 for their community garden.
Antigonish Affordable Housing Society members are in line for $1,700 for their program “Healthy Food in our Gardens!”
Members of the Tartan Garden Society of Judique will receive $5,000 for “Judique Food Web.”
Three of the programs are in Cheticamp- the Inverness Co. community’s art council, transportation co-op and Kinsmen club are receiving a combined $11,500.
