Nova Scotia’s former premier is taking on a new job.
Stephen McNeil is signing on to work with Atlantic Canadian law firm Cox & Palmer.
The firm says McNeil has been appointed as its Strategic Business Advisor for its Halifax office, and he will provide “strategic guidance” to the firm and its clients.
“We’re delighted to welcome Stephen McNeil as a new colleague,” said Chair of Cox & Palmer’s Regional Board Danny Gallivan in a news release. “Our former premier has led Nova Scotia through some of its most challenging times. He has served our province honourably and with distinction and Nova Scotians are better off because of his service.”
In the spring, McNeil resigned as the MLA for Annapolis after 18 years. He served as the premier from 2013 until February, 2021.
The appointment starts on Monday.
