International travellers who are already allowed into the country will face less restrictions if they’re fully vaccinated.
A release from the province Friday confirmed it would continue to follow federal guidelines on international travellers when they are loosened on July 5.
After that date international travellers who are fully vaccinated, which means they’ve had their second shot more than 14 days before they come into the country, will not have to quarantine, but will still need to get pre- and on-arrival testing.
Premier Iain Rankin says it makes sense to match the federal border policy.
“The federal rules are the same as Nova Scotia’s for fully vaccinated travellers and more stringent for others.”
There is no change for other travellers. They must still quarantine at point of entry until they get a negative test and can only end their full 14-day quarantine after receiving a second negative test.
International travellers must still fill out the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in form. Fully vaccinated people must upload a proof of vaccination.
