Port Hawkesbury RCMP are looking for a man who led officers on a chase along Highway 105.
Police received several tips of an erratic driver which officers caught up with just after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon in the Port Hastings area.
Police then chased the vehicle along Highway 105 before the driver stopped by the roadside and escaped into the woods.
Additional RCMP members were called in for a search with an assist from the police dog team from Cape Breton Regional Police and a Department of Natural Resources helicopter.
The late Wednesday search turned up no suspect, with investigators still looking for the driver.
Police have offered little other information on the male suspect with RCMP calling the chase and subsequent search “an isolated incident.” They ask anyone with any tips to come forward or do so anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
