Hudson MacLeod is the new Councillor-Elect for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough due to acclamation.
Having previously served the Municipality, MacLeod is no stranger to what works and what doesn’t for the region.
He says one main issue he wants to tackle is how to keep young people in the community.
“Rural areas of Nova Scotia are losing their population and their younger families, to see what I can do on that side of it is one of the major issues that I have.” MacLeod said.
He added that despite many people leaving smaller areas, District Seven has been growing.
“In the last, I’d say two or three years, there’s been more younger families moved into this district here, district number seven in the Municipality, than there has for a long time.” He said.
He says while many things have changed since he last served as a member of council he’s ready to help out where he can.
