The Member of Parliament for West Nova says there’s tremendous frustration across Canada right now.
Conservative Chris d’Entremont is in Ottawa, where a truck convoy protesting vaccine mandates is expected to arrive this weekend.
d’Entremont says people are getting tired of lockdowns.
“Many are doing what public health have asked them to do. I think people are tired of the ‘you’re vaccinated, and you’re not’ discussion and all those things that are permeating through society right now,” says d’Entremont.
While he understands people’s frustrations, d’Entremont says he’s not sure the convoy is the best way to manifest that.
He says he won’t judge someone based on their vaccine status, and knows many who are on both sides of the discussion.
“It’s that balance of when the information comes forward, that we make people understand the science behind vaccinations, and whether they want to get it or not.”
He says society has to adapt to the thought that COVID is here to stay, and learning to live with it is where the country needs to get to.
